Our First Grand Onam Celebrations, “Pranav Onam 2015” got off to a wonderful start on a bright sunny morning with members and families in their Onam best arriving eagerly on Sunday, 18th October 2015 at HAL Convention Centre (Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar Kalakshetra), Bengaluru.
The floral decorations and the beautiful Onam Pookalams by the competing members and families greeted the guests and created the perfect ambiance. Our Chief Guest Dr. Rajvir P. Sharma, IPS, Addl. Director General of Police, Karnataka and our Guests of Honour Dr. Suresh. K. Mohammed, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Karnataka & Mr. Biji George Koshy, MD, KHPL & Director Prestige Group arrived on time to grace the occasion. We were deeply honored to have such eminent dignitaries amidst us to share our celebrations. We were indeed moved when we got to know that our Guest of Honour, Dr. Suresh. K. Mohammed, IPS who came attired in Kerala dress for the occasion had reached just after having taken part in a 21 KMs grueling Bengaluru Marathon! During his speech, he even regaled the gathering with a melodiously rendered Malayalam poem!
Our beloved octogenarian President retired Judge Shri. T. Prabhakaran Nambiar welcomed the gathering and stressed that PRANAVAM is purely a family of Nambiars in Bengaluru with noble aims and goals.
Even as the guests were being introduced, lo and behold! Our most beloved King Mahabali in full regalia descended to the awe and amazement of the gathering. His benevolent presence electrified the gathering even as he showered abundant blessings on one and all.
Various awards for meritorious students were given away by the Chief Guest and award sponsors. Handsome prizes were awarded to the winners and runners up of the Pookkalam competition. There were also lucky draws and prizes galore.
Starting with the Thiruvathira kali, we had an enthralling programme of music and dance presented by “Soundawake MUSIQUE Academy - a ‘Rams Musique’ initiative”.
The celebrations befittingly concluded with the delectable grand Onam Sandhya!
We, at Pranavam are grateful to all our Members, families, Dignitaries, Donors and well-wishers for their wholehearted support in making our First Onam Celebrations, “Pranav Onam 2015” a grand success.
